Under close supervision, as an apprentice in training, must be willing and able to perform the less difficult tasks and assist others in high and low voltage line work involved in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution conductors, structures, underground systems, and related equipment. The role progresses through 4 years, with increasing responsibilities and required experience each year. The apprentice will learn to use pole climbing equipment, handle poles, install structures, connect services, perform switching, tie knots, trim trees, assist with inspections and maintenance, install conduit systems, handle equipment, prepare reports, operate company vehicles, and obtain a CDL. As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, in alternate locations, and perform additional duties during storms, outages, emergencies, or other necessary situations.
