About The Position

As a HVAC Apprentice at Carrier, you will play a vital role in delivering comfort and confidence to our customers, serving as the trusted face of our brand. This position offers the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively, showcasing your ability to make sound decisions on the job while contributing to a team environment. It’s an ideal role for someone passionate about their craft and eager to elevate their skills. This position is to work with the Southwest ON Region Service Team based out of our Stoney Creek office, covering Mississauga, Niagara Falls, London - Windsor/Sarnia areas. Membership to the Local 787 Union is mandatory. As an Apprentice, you will be working onsite at various customers in the Local 787 Union jurisdiction under supervision of a journeyperson.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Gas Fitter level 1 or 2 License
  • Hold a valid G-Class Driver’s License
  • Be a current member or be able to be accepted by the Local 787-Union
  • Valid ODP and Working at Heights Certificates
  • Apprentice Year 2 or 3
  • Accepted into ORAC apprenticeship program or eligible to be accepted
  • 2+ years of experience working in HVAC residential/manufacturing or facilities maintenance environment
  • 1+ years of working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites (Outlook, Word, Etc.)

  • Basic understanding of building automation controls
  • Physically capable of working in a fast-paced, stop-and-go manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to make quick decisions in support of a process-oriented operation

Responsibilities

  • Provide applied equipment service and HVAC maintenance for existing customer base
  • Handle minor repairs on applied/unitary equipment such as Chillers, Boilers, RTU, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Fans, AHU, MUA and split systems.
  • Assist Journeypersons and Apprentices with tasks and repairs as needed
  • Cleaning, repairing and routine maintenance of equipment
  • Verify completion of maintenance work orders and ensure compliance with technical standards and documentation protocols
  • Delivery of parts and equipment as required
  • Maintain warehouse inventory, tools, and consumables
  • Compliance with storage procedures, safety policies, and general housekeeping standards
  • Comply with Company Environment, Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
