About The Position

Admiral Beverage is seeking an Apprentice/Training Mechanic to repair and maintain fleet vehicles and equipment, including heavy to light trucks, cars, trailers, and forklifts. This role involves diagnosing and repairing malfunctions, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring vehicles meet specifications. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, follow technical instructions, and maintain a professional image while adhering to safety standards.

Requirements

  • Be able to travel 20% of time.
  • Provide own basic hand tools.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Commercial Driver’s License, Class A.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to perform basic functions of math in all units of measure and formats.
  • Ability to interpret rate, ratio, percent, and graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains fleet vehicles and equipment including heavy to light trucks, cars, trailers, and forklifts.
  • Conducts light manufacturing.
  • Reads problem descriptions and diagnoses equipment to determine malfunction and corrective action necessary for repair.
  • Inspects vehicles for defective equipment.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all fleet vehicle systems.
  • Overhauls gas or diesel engines.
  • Drives or operates repaired vehicles and equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Installs special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to technical manuals or schematic drawings.
  • Wears company-provided uniform and safety devices as appropriate to comply with safety standards and to present a professional image.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.
