Apprentice Technician - Hyundai Northshore
About The Position
Jim Pattison Hyundai Northshore is looking for an Apprentice Technician level 2 to 4 to join our Service Department. As Hyundai Apprentice you’ll work alongside experienced technicians while gaining hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs. This is a great opportunity for an apprentice who is eager to learn, build their skills, and grow their career in the automotive industry. We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in developing their technical skills. You’ll receive ongoing support, training, and mentorship as you continue your apprenticeship.
Requirements
- Completed Level 2 to 4 Automotive Service Technician Apprentice in British Columbia
- Valid BC Driver’s License with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 60 pounds and standing for extended periods
- High level of mobility, dexterity, and awareness when working around vehicles and shop equipment
Nice To Haves
- Previous automotive shop or dealership experience is considered an asset
- Basic mechanical knowledge and willingness to continue learning
- Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles is an asset
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive shop environment
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and measurements
- Identify mechanical and electrical issues, recommend solutions, and communicate findings clearly to Service team
- Partner with Service Advisors to provide updates on repair timelines or recommend additional safety work
- Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections on new inventory to ensure every vehicle leaving the shop is in top condition
- Coordinate with the Parts Department to source what you need and manage warranty labeling
- Assist fellow technicians when needed to maintain overall shop productivity
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Ensure a high degree of confidentiality with company and customer information
- Participate in maintaining a supportive and engaging working environment
