About The Position

This position involves inspecting premises to identify pest infestation sources and the extent of damage. The apprentice technician will work under supervision to apply chemical solutions, set traps, and use various equipment to eliminate or control pests. Responsibilities include driving service vehicles, assisting other workers, cleaning work sites, and completing daily work orders. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to obtain a pest control certification within six months of hire.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license (NY, NJ, CT, or PA) required – no exceptions
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be available for emergency and after-hours work
  • Must successfully complete a thirty (30) hour pest control certification course within six (6) months of hire
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years of experience in extermination or pest control application
  • Working knowledge of extermination equipment, tools, and materials

Responsibilities

  • Inspect premises to identify infestation sources and extent of damage to property, wall(s), roof porosity, and access to infested locations.
  • Under supervision, spray or dust chemical solutions, powders, or gases into rooms, furnishings, clothing, or outdoor areas such as marshlands, ditches, or catch basins.
  • Set mechanical traps or place poisonous paste or bait in sewers, burrows, or ditches.
  • Measure treatment areas, calculate fumigant requirements, and estimate cost for service.
  • Post warning signs and close/lock building doors to secure areas to be fumigated.
  • Drive vehicles equipped with power spraying gear and tools.
  • Assist other workers in treatment or extermination processes to eliminate or control pests, insects, or weeds.
  • Clean and remove blockages from infested areas to facilitate spraying procedures and ensure proper drainage using brooms, mops, shovels, or rakes.
  • Clean work site after completion of job.
  • Complete daily assigned work orders and record activities performed.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
