About The Position

This entry-level, onsite position supports the Telemetry Operations Team at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. ATR is the Navy’s East Coast open air test range and provides real-time flight test operations support including data acquisition services to DoD customers. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Enrollment in an Engineering/Electronics Technician AA/AS degree or related curriculum from an accredited college or university
Candidate should be a self-starter with an eagerness to learn and may at times need to research solutions independently
Must be flexible and team oriented
Must possess a valid driver’s license and successfully pass drug screening
Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance

Nice To Haves

Upon successful completion of the Apprentice Program the candidate will qualify as an Engineering Technician II
Some overtime (including some nights and weekends) and travel may be required to support test flight operations

Responsibilities

Monitors test flight operations
Operates telemetry receivers, GDP bit synchronizers, and telemetry data best-source-selector systems
Communicates effectively and professionally with co-workers, customers, and other personnel
Performs basic engineering technician principles and techniques under the supervision of an experienced technician to develop the basic knowledge and skills required to be a qualified engineering technician
