About The Position
Bannister GP Kia is looking for a motivated, reliable, and career-focused individual to join our service team as an Automotive Service Apprentice. This is more than a lube tech position. It is a structured entry point into a long-term automotive career, with a clear path toward becoming a certified automotive technician. The automotive industry continues to need skilled technicians, and that demand is not going away. Vehicles are becoming more advanced, more technical, and more software-driven, but they still require trained hands, diagnostic thinking, mechanical skill, and people who can solve real-world problems. This is a career path with long-term job security, strong income potential, and opportunities to grow. Our goal is to help the right person grow into a skilled, certified technician. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced dealership technicians, build your technical skills, and develop a career in a field where capable people are increasingly hard to find. AI is changing a lot of industries, but it is not replacing the person in the bay diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining vehicles. The future of automotive service belongs to people who are willing to learn, adapt, and build real technical skill.
Requirements
- Reliable and punctual
- Mechanically inclined
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment
- Focused on doing the job properly the first time
- Interested in becoming a certified technician
- Able to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Nice To Haves
- Previous shop experience is an asset
Responsibilities
- Oil and filter services
- Tire rotations and inspections
- Brake, fluid, battery, and basic maintenance checks
- Multi-point inspections
- Shop cleanliness and organization
- Supporting licensed technicians and service advisors
- Learning Kia repair processes, warranty standards, and dealership systems
