About The Position

This position involves rotating 12 hour shiftwork within a hydroelectric power plant. The selected candidate must have a 2 year technical degree in a related technical discipline.

Requirements

• Must have strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Must be accepted into the Apprenticship Program in accordance with the Apprenticeship Agreement.
• Must have a 2 year technical degree within a related technical discipline

Nice To Haves

• AAS in Electrical Engineering preferred

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision perform all required tasks related to the trade associated with the respective project.
• Work with and assist Operator of a higher grade.
• Under general supervision, perform tasks which the Apprentice has completed and signed off in the Apprenticeship Program.
• Maintain the cleanliness and housekeeping of workshops and equipment in current work areas.
• Complete training in the Apprenticeship Program at the pace and knowledge level prescribed in the Apprentice and Training Standard.

Benefits

• The negotiated pay rate for this position is $37.64 per hour. A new Apprentice Operator may expect to earn between $85,000 - $100,000 in the 1st year inclusive of overtime and step increases
