Clean Harbors Elgin, IL is looking for a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice to join their safety conscious team! This position will be responsible for assisting experienced mechanics in the building and fabrication of Vacuum Trucks. Requirements

High School diploma with career technical education.
Ability to work in a team environment
1+ years prior experience working on heavy duty-trucks and equipment.
1+ years of DOT inspection experience required.
Must provide own basic tools
Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire

Nice To Haves

Secondary Trade school preferred
Related mechanical certifications preferred (not required)

Responsibilities

Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
Assist senior mechanics as needed and directed.
Perform warehouse duties as directed.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
Complete daily checklist as required
Maintain facility via housekeeping duties
Performs other duties and tasks assigned by management that will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
