About The Position

Primoris Power Delivery is seeking Apprentice Linemen at levels AP1 through AP5 to join our Overhead Power Delivery team. This position assists with the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead electrical distribution systems. The appropriate apprentice level will be determined based on the candidate’s training, experience, and demonstrated skills.

Requirements

  • Apprentice Lineman classification of AP1 through AP5, based on applicable training and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOT qualifications when applicable.
  • Ability to climb poles and work safely at elevated heights.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and around energized electrical systems.
  • Must be willing to travel and respond to emergency-restoration work when required.
  • Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous overhead power-line construction experience is preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized lineworker training program is preferred for entry-level candidates.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A preferred or required within the company-established timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead electrical distribution lines.
  • Set and frame utility poles and install crossarms, insulators, transformers, conductors, and related equipment.
  • Assist qualified crew members with energized and de-energized line work as permitted by apprentice level.
  • Climb utility poles and work from aerial devices following all safety requirements.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and line-construction equipment.
  • Perform proper grounding, rigging, material handling, and jobsite setup.
  • Inspect tools, vehicles, equipment, and personal protective equipment before use.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and established work procedures.
  • Participate in job briefings and promptly report hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
  • Travel to various job locations and work overtime, weekends, or emergency-restoration assignments as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
