About The Position

CEDA has an immediate opening for an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic for our shop in Conklin AB. We’re a small team, you’ll get to know the people as well as you know the equipment. The variety of interesting equipment with specialty components combined with the tools needed to do great work are a few reasons our shop team loves working here.

Requirements

• Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician or higher required
• Valid class 5 Driver’s licence required (non GDL) clean 5 year abstract
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Able to provide your own tools

Nice To Haves

• Class 1 or 3 licence considered an asset
• Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance on Vacuum trucks, Combos, Water Trucks, Tankers, Skid-steers and Pressure Trucks
• Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps
• Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
• Interpret work orders
• Occasionally attend service calls in the field
• Work alongside Journeyman to learn and develop your skills
• Attend daily tool-box and safety meetings as scheduled
• Other duties as assigned
