The Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is nationally recognized and registered with the United States Department of Labor. This a two-year, 4,000-hour minimum program will provide in-depth training, both on the job and in classroom, to gain experience of a qualified Equipment Operator across divisions. Apprentices will be assigned to a seasoned professional as a mentor for the duration of the program. Upon successful completion, participants will receive national certification. Apprentices will earn their Commercial Driver’s License and certifications to qualify for a career as an Equipment Operator. The candidates will be eligible for pay increases based on successful completion of requirements. If selected as an apprentice, you will be required to sign an apprenticeship agreement and commit to the full 4,000-hour minimum program. The Equipment Operator Apprentice for Public Works will operate with a commitment to the One City, One Team approach, positively collaborate with team members and residents, and show a dedication to excellent service with courtesy and kindness! The starting hourly rate is $20.70 per hour. This position will remain open until filled. This apprenticeship is a 24 month max, part year, 40 hour per week position with Medical coverage benefit option only.
