Under supervision, performs a variety of skilled work in the operation, repair, and maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment and other related work as required. Skills are developed through training programs and then applied to maintenance and repairs of equipment including vessel boiler, electrical, air-conditioning refrigeration, plumbing, as well as a working knowledge of all other skill areas. This position is a bridge training and a stepping stone to an engineer role. This 24-month apprenticeship program provides a structured path to becoming a Stationary Engineer. Apprentices start at 70% of the minimum Stationary Engineer rate and receive regular wage increases as they progress through the program, reaching 100% of the minimum Stationary Engineer rate upon successful completion.
