About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Apprentice or Journeyman Commercial Electrician to join our team on a major commercial construction project. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the electrical trade under the guidance of experienced Journeyman Electricians. The Commercial Electrician will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems while learning the trade in a real-world setting.

Requirements

Apprentice - at least 4th year
Journeyman - at least 6 years (if non-licensed)
Apprentice - licensed preferred (Texas)
Journeyman - Journeyman licensed preferred (Texas) but not required
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Enrollment in a recognized electrical apprenticeship program is preferred.
A strong desire to learn the electrical trade and develop skills in the field of civil construction.
Familiarity with basic electrical concepts and tools is a plus, but not required.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
A keen eye for detail, ensuring work is performed safely and correctly.
Open to receiving constructive feedback and eager to grow in the electrical trade.

Nice To Haves

OSHA 10 certification is preferred but can be obtained on the job.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical installations including wiring, conduit work, switchgear, and lighting in compliance with local and national electrical codes.
Diagnose and repair electrical issues to ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely.
Conduct inspections of conduit, wiring methods, equipment terminations, grounding and bonding, labeling, and equipment installation for compliance with NEC, project standards, and client requirements.
Document inspection findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions through detailed reports, checklists, photographs, and field documentation.
Verify completion of corrective actions and perform follow-up inspections to ensure non-conforming work has been properly resolved.
Conduct regular maintenance checks on electrical systems, ensuring all components are functioning correctly and replacing or repairing faulty parts as necessary.
Adhere to all local, state, and national electrical codes, as well as company safety protocols and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
Work closely with other trades, including civil engineers, project managers, and construction workers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project.
Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA regulations.
Provide guidance and training to apprentice electricians as needed.
Work closely with other apprentices, journeymen, and site personnel to ensure smooth project operations and learning opportunities.
