About The Position

Bopat Electric is seeking experienced Electrical Apprentices for upcoming commercial construction projects in and around Maryland. This is not an entry-level position; candidates must have prior paid commercial or industrial electrical field experience. The role involves assisting with commercial electrical installations, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and upgrades, including installing conduit, wiring, lighting, devices, and other electrical components under supervision. Apprentices will also support journeyman electricians, read basic blueprints, and maintain a safe jobsite. This posting aims to build a pipeline for future construction needs, with timing and availability varying based on project requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of paid commercial or industrial electrical field experience is required
  • Currently enrolled in an approved electrical apprenticeship program or willing to enroll at the appropriate level based on prior training and documented field experience is required
  • Hands-on experience with commercial electrical construction tasks such as conduit, wiring, devices, lighting, wire pulls, or material installation
  • Ability to perform physical construction work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working on active job sites
  • Reliable transportation to job sites
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work early starts, overtime, weekends, and travel when project needs require
  • Willingness to complete required background check and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Maryland Electrical Apprentice License
  • 2nd-, 3rd-, or higher-year apprenticeship standing
  • Current enrollment in IEC, ABC, or another approved apprenticeship program
  • Experience reading basic electrical drawings or blueprints
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • First Aid/CPR or other safety certifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with commercial electrical installations, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and upgrades
  • Install conduit, wiring, lighting, devices, boxes, and other electrical components under supervision
  • Assist with wire pulls, feeder installation, panel work, grounding, and equipment connections
  • Read and work from basic blueprints, electrical drawings, and project specifications
  • Support journeyman electricians and foremen with daily project work
  • Maintain tools, materials, and a clean, safe jobsite
  • Follow company safety procedures and project-specific requirements
