About The Position

An Apprentice Electrician works under the direct supervision of a licensed journeyman electrician or foreman to learn the trade and assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on company projects. Apprentices are expected to demonstrate strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to safety and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and site rules at all times.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, JSAs, and safety meetings; stop work and notify Supervisor if conditions are unsafe.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area.
  • Comply with OSHA, local electrical codes, and apprenticeship program requirements (hours, classes, etc.).
  • Report incidents, near misses, or quality issues immediately.
  • Pull, route, and secure conductors and cable in conduit, tray, and other raceways.
  • Install boxes, fittings, supports, and hardware per drawings and direction.
  • Assist with setting and wiring panels, transformers, disconnects, lighting, receptacles, and equipment.
  • Help with terminations, splicing, labeling, and device make‑up as directed.
  • Use basic test equipment (e.g., multimeters) as instructed to verify continuity, voltage, and proper operation.
  • Properly use, care for, and return hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Assist with material handling: receiving deliveries, counting and staging materials, and returning unused items.
  • Keep gang boxes, carts, and work areas organized and inventoried.
  • Report damaged tools, missing PPE, or material shortages to the supervisor promptly.
  • Accurately record hours worked to the correct job and cost code per company procedure.
  • Support basic documentation: labeling circuits/gear, updating material lists.
  • Communicate clearly with coworkers, other trades, and site supervision.
  • Attend required apprenticeship classes.
  • Seek feedback and observe best practices from journeymen and site leadership.
  • Show up on time, prepared, and fit for duty each day; follow company standards for conduct and appearance.
  • Perform physical tasks required by the job.
