About The Position
Individuals will complete a comprehensive three (3) year apprentice program encompassing all areas of plant maintenance leading to a fully qualified journeyman Electrician position. This program includes attending and successfully completing classes, hands-on training from qualified instructors, assisting journeymen electricians, and performing other assigned duties as directed by management.
Requirements
- High School/GED or equivalent (Required)
- Navy nuclear power plant experience may also be considered
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in a related electrical field (science, mathematics, technology or equivalent) (Preferred)
- Some industrial experience in Electrical discipline is desirable
Responsibilities
- Attend and successfully complete classes in all phases of apprentice/training program
- Complete OJT/hands-on training from a qualified instructor or qualified member of maintenance personnel
- Assist journeyman electricians in the testing, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment
- Identify hold points, additional problems and proper replacement parts as needed during performance of work activities
- Perform other assigned duties as directed by management, supervision, and journeymen
