About The Position

The Apprentice Electrical Power Technician will perform on-the-job training (OJT) while learning and developing as a Technician. Responsibilities include participating in a variety of focused developmental activities, assignments, and rotations over 12-18 months to prepare for a professional role at HOLT. In the event the Apprentice Electrical Power Technician fails to perform, or no position is available after completion of the program, he or she will be separated from the company. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and its applications
  • Knowledge of computer software and hardware applications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information
  • Ability to follow directions and guidelines
  • Ability to receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from Service Leadership
  • Ability to learn many different types of repair procedures on a variety of electrical equipment
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Valid Driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • Up to one year of relevant experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Learns and assists with the maintenance and repair of electrical components for generators, switchgear, and breakers
  • Gains knowledge of and assists with installation, repairs, maintenance, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components
  • Examines and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure proper functioning
  • Adjusts, connects, or disconnects wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts
  • Attends Technical and Soft Skill classes and successfully incorporates skills learned
  • Maintains safety training and procedures
  • Receives coaching, mentoring, and feedback from Service Leadership
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
