About The Position
This paid apprenticeship combines hands-on training, web-based instruction, and mentorship from experienced technicians. Upon successful completion of the 6-to-9-month program, you will transition into a full Technician role on our 2nd shift, equipped to perform preventative maintenance, system diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Strong general mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
- High degree of reliability, trustworthiness, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- All Candidates must pass a CORI check, criminal background check, MVR check and drug test.
Nice To Haves
- Technical or Trade School certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test drive, and diagnose malfunctions in buses, trucks, and heavy equipment; read and interpret diagnostic test results; consult with customers on diagnostic findings.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, battery checks, lubrication); adjust and align wheels; repair or replace malfunctioning mechanical and electrical components.
- Safely raise trucks, buses, and heavy equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
- Test-drive vehicles post-repair to verify proper operation and safety.
- Complete all required web-based and classroom training sessions on or before assigned due dates.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
