Under close supervision, the Apprentice will assist with and facilitate various job assignments to learn the skills and responsibilities of a Crane Technician. You will receive training on how to complete inspections, conduct maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Port Houston cranes. The apprenticeship program is a combination of classroom hours and 8000 hours of paid, on-the-job training, lasting up to 5 years. Apprentices learn theory, mathematics, how to read blueprints and schematics, safety, and more.
