About The Position
Apprentice Carpenters work under the supervision of a Journeyman Carpenter, assisting them in their duties while training and gaining a better understanding of the trade. At MatPel Builders, you will help shape some of the most beautiful homes in the San Francisco Bay Area while building a meaningful, long-term career.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Good math skills & mechanically minded.
- Familiarity with common power and hand tools.
- Experience in construction, preferably high end residential.
- Open to instruction, willingness to learn.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, great attitude.
Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Carpenters with construction and remodeling projects.
- Help build structures from wood and other materials.
- Learn and practice essential carpentry skills on the job.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Set up and maintain tools for your supervising carpenter.
- Attend courses on carpentry to attain the necessary technical skills as outlined in the Field Performance Skills Matrix.
