About The Position
The Apprentice Body Shop Technician is an entry-level position within the automotive body shop where individuals learn the skills necessary to repair damaged vehicle exteriors, including removing and replacing parts, performing basic bodywork, prepping surfaces for painting, and assisting experienced technicians under close supervision, while gaining knowledge of industry standards and safety procedures through hands-on training.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to take direction and follow through.
- Must be able to attend all training and shop meetings.
- Must possess a valid IL driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Responsibilities
- Move cars to be worked on into the shop.
- Secure needed parts for work assignment as directed by technician.
- Maintain a clean shop.
- Perform work as directed by technician.
- Detail completed vehicles.
- Complete all in-house training as needed.
