About The Position
The Apprentice Technician is responsible for assisting experienced automotive technicians in performing vehicle maintenance and repairs under close supervision, learning basic diagnostic skills, and gaining hands-on experience in various automotive systems while actively training to become a fully qualified technician. Requirements
- Recent graduate from an automotive program or have been employed at an auto shop for 2 years.
- Must be mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to take directions and follow through.
- Good judgment with the ability to operate power and hand tools
- Must possess a valid IL driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Responsibilities
- Diagnose the cause of malfunctions, perform repairs as directed and document all work performed.
- Attend all training, shop meetings, and continue education provided by the manufacturer.
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
- Road test vehicles to quality check the work performed.
