About The Position

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests. The Applied Voice Faculty position is considered an Online Adjunct Professor position with the School of Music. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to teaching applied voice lessons for undergraduate and graduate students, providing detailed feedback, mentoring/challenging students to grow musically, intellectually, and spiritually, maintaining contact with students to advise on matters related to academic achievement, attendance, and behavior, and maintaining/reporting grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.

Requirements

  • A Doctoral Degree (DMA in Vocal Performance or DMA in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy)
  • Organizational Skills That Facilitate the Completion of Assignments and Tasks in A Timely and Accurate Manner.
  • Adequate Interpersonal, Customer Service, And Presentation Skills.
  • Ability To Communicate Both Verbally and In Writing to Convey Information.
  • Familiarity With Microsoft Office Suite and Online Learning Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with teaching online applied lessons in Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • DMA in Vocal Performance (or DMA in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy) AND Significant Professional Experience in Teaching Applied Voice
  • Demonstrated Strengths in Teaching at The College Level.
  • Strong Organizational Skills That Facilitate Assignment/Task Anticipation and Completion.
  • Superior Interpersonal, Customer Service, And Presentation Skills.
  • Highly Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
  • Mastery Of the Microsoft Office Suite and Online Learning Management Systems.
  • Mastery of teaching online applied lessons in Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
