About The Position

KPF, a global architecture practice headquartered in New York City, is seeking a motivated and curious Visualization Intern to join our team in KPF's New York office. This internship sits within the Visualization Team, which is responsible for producing high-quality visual content across all project phases and driving the adoption of new creative technology across the firm. As AI rapidly transforms the architecture and visualization industries, this role goes well beyond traditional production support. We are looking for someone who is excited about emerging technology and wants to help research, test, and document AI-powered workflows while contributing to real project work. The ideal candidate brings strong visual instincts, a willingness to learn, and genuine enthusiasm for the intersection of design and technology.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Architecture, Digital Media, Computer Graphics, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling or rendering software such as Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Blender, D5 Render, or Enscape.
• Demonstrated interest in AI tools and their application to design and visual content creation.
• Strong visual communication skills with attention to composition, lighting, and detail.
• Ability to organize information clearly and create polished, professional presentation materials.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new tools and workflows quickly in a fast-paced production environment.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with real-time rendering engines (D5 Render, Unreal Engine, Twinmotion, or Enscape).
• Practical experience with AI image or video generation tools (Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, Runway, or similar).
• Basic understanding of prompt engineering concepts and generative AI workflows.
• Experience creating presentations, tutorials, or educational content in any format.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere).
• Portfolio demonstrating visualization work, creative technology projects, or AI experimentation.
• Experience with scripting or automation (Python, visual scripting, or similar) for streamlining visualization tasks.
• Familiarity with video editing and motion graphics tools (Adobe Premiere, After Effects).
• Interest in content creation, including social media, YouTube, or written technical content for design audiences.

Responsibilities

• AI Workflow Research and Documentation Assist in researching, testing, and evaluating AI tools and workflows for architectural visualization, including image generation, video generation, and prompt engineering techniques.
• Help maintain and expand internal prompt libraries, workflow guides, and best-practice documentation that support AI adoption across the firm.
• Track emerging AI tools, plugins, and platform updates relevant to the AEC industry and summarize findings for team review.
• Support the preparation of research summaries and recommendations for firm leadership on new technology opportunities.
• Presentations and Training Materials Create and update presentation decks, training guides, and reference materials for internal workshops, webinars, and technology reviews.
• Assist in developing onboarding content for visualization software and AI tools being rolled out across project teams.
• Help produce tutorial content, quick-start guides, and cheat sheets that make new tools accessible to designers at all skill levels.
• Support the preparation of materials for firm-wide presentations, including leadership briefings and anniversary programming.
• Real-Time Rendering and Visualization Support Support project teams in creating real-time rendered visuals using tools such as D5 Render, Enscape, or similar platforms.
• Assist with scene setup, material application, lighting, and camera composition under the direction of senior visualization specialists.
• Help prepare 3D models for visualization, including cleanup, organization, and export from Revit or other modeling platforms.
• Contribute to the production of marketing visuals, animations, and presentation graphics as part of the broader team workflow.
• AI-Powered Visual Content Production Assist in generating and refining AI-produced images and videos for project presentations and marketing use, working with tools such as Nano Banana Pro, Magnific, Kling, Veo, and others as they evolve.
• Help test and benchmark AI models for architectural visualization applications, comparing output quality, speed, and consistency.
• Support the team in building repeatable AI content pipelines that can scale across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate AI-generated content into firm communications and social media channels.
