About The Position

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems. The Applied Service Project Manager is responsible for post-award planning, executing, and closeout of applied service projects over $25,000.00. This role serves as the primary owner of applied service projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. The position focuses on commercial applied projects, working closely with applied operations, field technicians, customers, subcontractors, and branch leadership. The Project Manager ensures projects are executed in compliance with company standards, contractual requirements, and applicable codes.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent technical or field experience in mechanical systems.
  • Construction Management, Mechanical Systems, or a related trade discipline or similar experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing commercial applied service work, repairs, or small projects.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems and applied HVAC equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with job costing, scheduling, and subcontract coordination.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project/service management software.
  • Ability to visit job sites and navigate active construction or mechanical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and execute applied service projects that involve complex mechanical systems, engineered equipment, large‑tonnage systems, or integrated commercial HVAC applications requiring enhanced coordination, and project controls.
  • Manage project budgets, job cost forecasts, and monthly financial updates.
  • Ownership of applied service projects upon contract award and manage through close out.
  • Monitor labor productivity, material usage, subcontract costs, and margins throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure projects are managed in accordance with company financial goals and contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate daily project activities including labor scheduling through applied coordinators, material procurement, and subcontractor management.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate financial, schedule, and execution risks.
  • Provide project-specific technical and administrative direction to assigned applied technicians in coordination with applied operations leadership assigned to large-tonnage system projects.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with company standards, and customer specifications.
  • Conduct site visits if applicable.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on assigned applied projects.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and operations.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials with applied material coordinator, equipment, and subcontracted services.
  • Maintain accurate project records including schedules, budgets, job costs, and correspondence.
  • Provide regular project status updates to branch and service leadership.
