About The Position

Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented Applied Scientist specializing in Neurosymbolic AI. This role involves innovating at the intersection of classical AI reasoning and Large Language Models (LLMs) to build AI reasoning systems that provide provably correct answers. You will collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers, publish research in leading AI venues, and apply your technology to improve operations for customers in robotics, automation, and fulfillment. Opportunities include using LLMs for plan generation, AI reasoning for plan verification, learning efficient reasoning strategies, and developing self-improving models. The work spans both fundamental science and practical business problems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Nice To Haves

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

• Work closely with other scientists and engineers, and be part of Amazon’s diverse global science community.
• Publish research in top-tier academic venues and hone presentation skills.
• Invent new techniques in areas of expertise, inspired by challenges and opportunities.
• Meet regularly with technical lead and team to discuss ideas, receive guidance and feedback, and collaborate on architectures and algorithms.
• Author papers and build AI systems to deliver results for operations customers.
• Review plans and results with other scientists.
• Meet with engineers to implement ideas at scale.
