About The Position

Join the Microsoft Turing team to develop applied research and engineering solutions for enterprise productivity with AI. The team works on state-of-the-art deep learning models, large language models, and conversational search experiences, building core systems behind Microsoft 365 Copilot and bringing large language models into production at enterprise scale. Its work includes developing advanced AI capabilities, building Copilot orchestration and runtime systems, enabling multimodal, real-time, and agentic interactions, and pioneering AI-driven computer and tool use. The team combines engineering and research expertise, with scientists and engineers partnering to turn research into production-ready systems. Project assignments are shaped by employees’ interests, experience, and strengths. The Applied Scientist II will work with applied scientists and engineers to design and build backend platform capabilities and Copilot scenarios, taking projects from design through implementation, experimentation, and release. The role develops machine learning and deep learning technologies that use text, images, and video to analyze and transform content, and conducts applied research to power next-generation AI experiences. The position is based in Redmond, Washington, and requires at least three days per week in the office. Domestic relocation assistance is available.
