About The Position

eBay, Inc. seeks Applied Researcher 1 in San Jose, CA. This role involves conducting applied research in machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) to develop innovative solutions for eBay's Global Marketplace. The position requires designing, training, and evaluating ML models, including language models, for extracting, summarizing, and transforming unstructured data into knowledge extraction and search functionality. The researcher will author technical documentation, build and maintain efficient data pipelines, participate in industry collaborations, and explore novel ML methodologies tailored to eBay’s ecosystem. Maintaining project documentation and updating the team on the latest developments in NLP and machine learning are also responsibilities. Partial telecommuting is permitted from within a commutable distance.

Requirements

Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field.

Responsibilities
