Applied General Education Instructor
About The Position
IBMC College is seeking an Applied General Education Instructor for their Fort Collins, CO Campus. This instructor will primarily teach American Government and Human Resources classes. The role involves delivering an established curriculum, assigning and grading assignments, inputting attendance records, and fostering an effective learning environment through classroom management. The position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree with 15 credit hours in the discipline or a related field. No prior teaching experience is necessary. Hours include both instructional and outside administrative time, with classes typically running from 9 am to 2 pm or 5 pm to 10 pm, and the instructor may teach day or evening classes as required.

- No prior teaching experience is necessary
Responsibilities
- Prepare for and instruct established and approved curriculum and lesson plans to students in a professional manner
- Answer all student questions as they arise to ensure student understanding and completion of material
- Ensure students are aware of safety policies and monitor for correct procedures
- Maintain professionalism within the classroom and coach students on their professionalism and any issues affecting their education
- Manage and resolve student issues in the classroom as necessary
- Manage all classroom activity including lecturing, student assistance, and lab instruction
- Ensure students are attending class and arriving on time, and resolve attendance issues as needed
- Record student attendance, grades, outside work, and all student interactions in student files and on database in a timely manner
- Attend periodic trainings to maintain currency in the field and continual improvement of personal teaching strategies
- Setup lab area for daily instructional activities including equipment setup
- Work with Program Supervisor to initiate student support plans, and warnings as needed
