About The Position

The Applied AI Engineer will own workflow automation and language model integrations across the organization, including responsibility for maintaining existing reports, connectors, pipelines, and APIs, as well as AI agent development and guardrail management. Working under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer, this role is critical to advancing our applied AI capabilities and ensuring the reliability and governance of AI-driven systems that support our national property management operations.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in applied ML, AI engineering, or data science with at least one LLM application shipped to production.
  • Strong Python skills with demonstrated comfort working with REST APIs, async patterns, and JSON data manipulation.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one agentic framework (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or equivalent).
  • Ability to write clear, structured prompts and evaluate model outputs systematically.
  • Experience integrating with cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric preferred).
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with real estate software ecosystems (Yardi, Entrata, MRI, RealPage) or financial services data.
  • Experience building document intelligence workflows including OCR, classification, and entity extraction.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Copilot extensibility and the M365 AI ecosystem.
  • Comfort operating in early-stage or infrastructure-light environments where process definition is part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain LLM-powered workflows and AI agent systems using agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or equivalent.
  • Develop and manage connectors, pipelines, and APIs that integrate AI capabilities into existing business processes.
  • Author clear, structured prompts and systematically evaluate model outputs for accuracy, safety, and performance.
  • Implement and maintain AI guardrails, safety controls, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure responsible and reliable model behavior.
  • Integrate with cloud data platforms including Azure, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric to support AI-driven analytics and reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance existing reports, data connectors, and automation pipelines to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate requirements into scalable AI solutions.
  • Document AI systems, integration architectures, and operational procedures to support maintainability and knowledge transfer.
  • Stay current with developments in applied AI, LLM tooling, and the Microsoft AI ecosystem to inform technology recommendations.
  • Help define processes and standards in an environment where infrastructure and tooling are actively evolving.
