About The Position

The Applied Academic Instructor is responsible for teaching academic subjects using an approved curriculum, managing a classroom effectively, and fostering a safe and respectful learning environment. This role requires the use of diverse teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, as well as the effective use of technology and student-centered strategies. The instructor will build positive relationships with young adults, serving as a mentor and role model, and providing guidance while maintaining professional boundaries. Collaboration with other staff is essential to support student success, along with maintaining accurate records and helping students develop workplace readiness. The position also involves supporting student attendance, progress, retention, and program completion, and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Education
  • A current/valid state teaching certification
  • A valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Follow all applicable Job Corps, Department of Labor, company, safety, and confidentiality requirements.
