About The Position

The position is designated Statutory Exempt (EHRA) and is exempt from the State Human Resources Act. This Applications Systems Analyst II will help design, develop, and support complex enterprise business solutions for the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (ABC Commission). The ABC Commission’s suite of custom applications primarily consists of Microsoft technologies such as ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server and SharePoint. A strong focus of this position will also be to help modernize current architecture and platforms.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development; OR Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development; OR High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with front-end technologies such as Bootstrap, HTML, CSS
Experience with Azure DevOps and/or JIRA
Experience using Git code repositories

Responsibilities

Design complex .NET applications and analyze and modify existing programs.
Work closely with business analysts and SME’s to elicit and gather requirements, write specifications and test plans.
Produce deliverables for all phases of the standard development life cycle from functional requirements through final implementation and production support.
