About The Position

The Application Support Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role within the Markets Treasury and Financing Application Support team, operating as part of Citi's broader Production Management function, focusing on Global Fixed Income Markets Financing Desk applications supporting Trade Capture for Secured Financing Transactions, Positions and Collateral Management, Funding Summaries and Intraday Risk Reporting liaising with multiple other Risk, Etrading, Reporting, Middle Office and Back Office applications. This is a global team supporting a global set of users operating on follow-the-sun model, managing incidents and changes while ensuring stability for systemically important businesses. The role expects adoption and embrace of an engineering mindset while delivering excellent client experience for our business. The individual applies in-depth functional and technical knowledge to collaborate with the team to improve the state of the estate. Strong analytical, communication, and diplomacy skills are essential. The role regularly assumes informal or formal leadership within teams, including coaching and training of new recruits.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in an Application Support role, ideally within a financial services or capital markets environment.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to SRE, automation, or engineering-led support initiatives.
  • Familiarity and experience with platforms like Linux and Openshift, Databases like Oracle and MongoDB, monitoring tools like ITRS, Grafana and Applynamics, etc.
  • Issue tracking and reporting using tools such as ServiceNow and JIRA.
  • Engineering mindset with a drive to automate, simplify, and reduce toil
  • Advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communications, including the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff can understand.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to filter, prioritize, and validate complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.
  • Ability to effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and business support for users of Finance Desk applications, to maintain application systems running in daily operations of the firm, managing their operating environments with a focus on stability, quality, and functionality against service level expectations.
  • Perform structured start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handovers.
  • Assess risk and impact of production issues and escalate appropriately, adhering to Service Level Agreements and Citi's Incident and Problem Management Standards.
  • Leverage various monitoring tools including ITRS, Grafana, and AppDynamics for proactive monitoring, alerting across a rich technical estate spanning RHEL, Openshift, Oracle, Gemfire, Ignite, etc.
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards aligned with Citi's security, compliance, and risk policies.
  • Support and participate in Continuity of Business (COB) invocations, Production Swing Tests, and Data Recovery Assessments for supported applications
  • Participate in execution of application releases and ensure high standards of gatekeeping as we deploy to production
  • Embrace AI and automation focus within Production Management — leveraging AI utilities to identify trends, prevent recurring incidents, and reduce manual toil across the Repo Finance application estate.
  • Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors; communicate technical issues clearly to non-IT stakeholders.
  • Identifies ways to maximize the potential of the applications used
  • Assess risk and impact of production issues and escalate to business and technology management in a timely manner.
  • Reviews and develops application contingency planning to ensure availability to users.
  • Partners with appropriate development and production support areas to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements.
  • Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production.
  • Engages in post implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality.
  • Considers implications of the application of technology to the current environment.
  • Identifies risks, vulnerabilities and security issues; communicates impact.
  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and helps to define operating standards and processes.
  • Expected to be able to raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams, while adhering to Service Level Agreements.
  • Acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
