About The Position

This role supports the strategy, performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of operational software systems across the terminal. The Applications Specialist will help deliver measurable operational value by improving system resilience, safety, standardization, and productivity while supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic modernization initiatives. Working closely with operations, IT, labor relations, global functions, vendors, and other stakeholders, the specialist will help ensure reliable application performance while contributing to the successful integration of technology solutions associated with the Elizabeth Upgrade Project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience providing end-user support across software, hardware, and mobile devices, with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience working with OT infrastructure components and operational technology systems.
  • Knowledge of operational systems such as GOS, TOS, AD, MTS, OCR, SCADA, ECS, or comparable environments.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and enterprise IT standards within OT environments.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and ownership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to obtain or renew a TWIC card and Port Access Card as required for terminal access.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of business application initiatives aligned with terminal operational technology strategy and business priorities.
  • Drive system reliability and performance through incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the deployment, integration, testing, and operational readiness of existing and new OT software solutions.
  • Collaborate with vendors, OEMs, and system integrators to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions.
  • Resolve incidents and service requests within agreed service levels, escalating complex issues when required.
  • Support compliance with cybersecurity requirements, enterprise IT/OT standards, labor agreements, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain, configure, install, and replace IT and OT hardware and software components while supporting change management and operational readiness activities.
