Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in a Health Information System (HIS) environment.
  • Experience supporting or implementing Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), preferably AP modules.
  • Experience with Information Systems of Anatomic Pathology workflows strongly preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of HL7 interface standards
  • Working knowledge or ability to learn Nuance Speech Attendant, Interbit Net Delivery, Account Software, CBORD, Omnicell, OneID, and Iatric systems.
  • Proven track record supporting various clinical or nonclinical applications and delivering results.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation.
  • Current knowledge of trends in technology relating to healthcare software applications.
  • Stellar prioritization skills and proven track record executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • Very strong customer service orientation.
  • Outstanding written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies.
  • Proven track record delivering IT solutions that align with the organizational goals and objectives.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL, LEAN and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required.

Nice To Haves

  • College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, health sciences is preferred
  • Exposure to system build validation, data migration, interface testing, or device integrations considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with digital pathology, tracking systems, and laboratory instrumentation integrations is an advantage.
  • Understanding of interface engines preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible as the subject matter technical expert in various Oracle Health modules and other third party integrated or standalone applications.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate interface issues with third party vendors.
  • Support testing and validation of interfaces including ADT, ORM, ORU, billing, and e‑Ordering feeds
  • Participate in cutover planning, readiness assessments, and go‑live preparation
  • Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test scripts covering all AP workflows
  • Oversee end user operations and drive solutions across the organization.
  • Validate end‑to‑end processes including ordering, accessioning, specimen routing, grossing, histology processing, reporting, coding, and billing.
  • Lead the implementation, customization and integration of software applications.
  • Guide project teams to implement solutions made up of clinical staff, IT staff, vendor resources and ministry staff.
  • Prioritize; plan and deliver IT based enhancements and solutions.
  • Analyze application trends and build best practice solutions.
  • Drive next generation applications solutions to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders, including Laboratory and IT Leadership, Laboratory Clinical Informatics Specialists, and other key partners, to gather end‑user requirements and implement continual improvements.
  • Identifies and recommends procedures and policies to improve overall service and remedy specific user problems.
  • Supporting organization wide project implementation from a technical perspective.
  • Other duties as assigned
