About The Position

Nova is seeking a highly technical and motivated Applications Scientist to support its growth in the semiconductor industry. This role involves engaging with Nova customers to develop innovative optical metrology applications for semiconductor manufacturing, applying statistical techniques to optimize these applications for high-volume manufacturing (HVM) environments, and providing regional support for new product introductions and evaluations (beta, head-to-head). Requirements

  • Fluency in English
  • Travel domestically and internationally, as required.
  • Ph.D. or Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of optical metrology systems
  • 3-5 years of experience in the semiconductor manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with OCD modeling, data analysis and coding is preferred (e.g. MATLAB, Python).
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor metrology and processing fundamentals is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in customer interaction is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in semiconductor fabrication and a strong background in manufacturing processes (e.g., lithography, CMP, deposition, wet and dry etch) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cutting-edge customer solutions that highlight the capabilities of next-generation metrology products.
  • Collaborate with algorithm, software, and engineering teams to analyze and troubleshoot advanced systems in an R&D environment.
  • Create comprehensive supporting documentation, including test procedures, customer demo reports, and marketing materials.
  • Provide customer support for the installation, maintenance, and enhancement of Nova’s products.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to refine existing solutions.
