About The Position

The Applications Imaging Specialist functions as a subject matter expert on all information systems used in the Radiology Department. As such, this position provides data analysis and support to the Radiology Leadership Team, including Director, Managers, and Supervisors. This position monitors the different information systems used in the department for discrepancies and issues.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required
2 years clerical or medical office experience required

Nice To Haves

1 year medical imaging/radiology experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Data extraction, reports, and analysis for Radiology Leadership Team & Director regularly and ad hoc to support department operations and management
Facilitate appropriate documentation to ensure Radiology services are accurately reflected in the medical record and that exam charges are appropriate
Liaison between Radiologists and Radiology Leadership Team on workflow issues and report accuracy
Perform checks and audits of data sources to ensure accuracy
Monitor information systems daily for abnormalities and possible errors
Manage system downtimes and downtime procedures to ensure that exams performed during downtime are completed fully and reports issued to referring providers
Super User of Information Systems for Radiology Department: Including but not limited to Radiology Information System (RIS), PACS system (Fuji Synapse/Ambra), Transcription system (Nuance PowerScribe360), Electronic Medical Record (CareConnect/Epic), Mammography Reporting System (MRS), Charge Capture System (CareConnectOne), Patient Scheduling system (Cadence)
Deep understanding of departmental patient care workflows from Scheduling through Exam Completion including Radiology Report generation workflows, Image workflows, and Charge workflows
Appropriate knowledge of and use of THR intranet as resource for effective and efficient operations
On call for planned and unplanned downtime to related systems including PACS, transcription, Epic
