The Komline-Filtra team has over 40 years of experience in custom engineered industrial and separation filtration solutions for industries like metalworking, water/wastewater treatment, chemical, mining, and steel. They hold over 60 patents and have installed 21,000 systems in 37 countries, offering products for water purification, coolant/oil filtration, air/mist collectors, and pressure filters. This role supports the sales team in selling backwashable media filters, dewatering equipment, and water purification (PFAS) products. It involves applications engineering, managing equipment rentals, and conducting water sample testing to understand client needs and develop optimal solutions. The position requires a subject matter expert in the engineering aspects of the products who can consult with clients. The role demands flexibility to transition between client interactions and laboratory work.

Requirements

  • Chemical Engineering degree with a desire to work in sales is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to be self-directed in a lab setting.
  • Good organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to practice and promote required safety standards.
  • Working knowledge and ability to review, interpret, and apply technical manuals, technical instructions, and standard operating procedures in all aspects of quality assurance.
  • Knowledge and ability to collect data, process forms, and compose reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of personnel.
  • Proficient skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Komline's products and customer base by working closely with experienced staff.
  • Learn to manage the proposal, quoting, and sales process for Water Purification equipment (both capital and rental).
  • Conduct intensive testing of water samples to determine client needs and how Filtra-Systems can best service them.
  • Interview potential customers to determine their needs.
  • Understand and be familiar with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Utilize problem-solving and consulting skills to help customers improve their business.
  • Support the Spare Parts department by responding to client requests and processing orders.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in the filtration industry.
  • Travel by car or airline as needed for customer visits, trade shows, and closing deals.
  • Participate in occasional overnight stays when required.
  • Lead and participate in trade show seminars related to Komline's products.
  • Create and perform sales presentations.
  • Follow up promptly on new opportunities.
  • Assist in keeping the company website and sales media current and up-to-date.
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Aid in self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
  • Plan daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction to maximize personal output.
  • Keep own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety and report/correct any unsafe conditions.
