About The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career mechanical engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, working hands-on with equipment, and interacting with customers. The Applications Engineer will join a growing team specializing in advanced ultrasonic metal welding technology. The role involves starting by working closely with manufacturing and assembly teams to learn the equipment, processes, and technology firsthand. As knowledge grows, the engineer will transition into a customer-facing applications role, supporting new projects, troubleshooting field challenges, validating processes, and helping customers achieve success with cutting-edge manufacturing solutions.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for understanding how machinery works
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with PCs, Windows environments, pneumatics, electronics, and PLCs
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assembling, testing, maintaining, or troubleshooting industrial equipment is highly valued
  • Experience training operators or technicians is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Learn systems by working alongside manufacturing and assembly teams
  • Develop expertise in ultrasonic metal welding processes and equipment
  • Partner with customers to develop and validate new applications
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues both remotely and onsite
  • Support small production runs and process development activities
  • Create technical reports, application documentation, and customer training materials
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal engineering, design, and sales teams
  • Participate in customer visits, demonstrations, and industry trade shows
  • Travel occasionally to customer sites for support and project work
