About The Position

The Applications Engineer will provide expert advice to customers regarding equipment selection, focusing on positive displacement pumps, progressive cavity pumps, pneumatic valves, and power generation equipment. This role involves understanding engineering parameters like flow, viscosity, and pressure demands to select appropriate equipment. The position requires coordinating manufacturing deadlines, scheduling tests, and communicating testing capabilities to customers. Additionally, the Applications Engineer will work with the engineering department on specialty items, potentially write sales letters and proposals, and ensure correct product orders and manufacturing according to customer requirements. The role also includes participating in meetings and training to stay updated on industry developments, conducting customer visits to address field problems or verify requirements, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering principles
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Bachelor's degree and/or related applications experience
  • Three years manufacturing experience working with fluid handling and progressive displacement equipment

Responsibilities

  • Uses company knowledge to give proper advice to customer questions concerning equipment selection.
  • Provides applications assistance for positive displacement pumps, progressive cavity pumps, pneumatic valves and power generation equipment based on engineering parameters such as flow, viscosity and pressure demands.
  • Coordinates manufacturing deadlines to meet customer schedules.
  • Coordinates and schedules testing and informs customers on test types and certifications.
  • Works with engineering department to determine engineering requirements for specialty items.
  • May be required to write sales letters and proposals.
  • Ensures successful follow through to determine that correct products were ordered and manufactured according to customer's requirements.
  • Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field.
  • Conducts customer visits to determine field problems or to verify actual customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
