ICD - Applications Engineer (Entry-Level)
About The Position
Aquatech is seeking a full-time Applications Engineer to join their team in Hartland, WI. This role involves understanding client needs, developing process designs using evaporation and crystallization technology, and creating technical proposals. The engineer will also prepare cost estimates, act as a technical expert in client meetings, develop technical content, participate in pilot testing, and complete various engineering activities such as heat & material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and layout design. Collaboration with engineering teams during project execution, procurement, and start-up is also a key part of the role. The position is for an individual considered a Non-Exempt employee and will be performed in person at the Hartland, Wisconsin campus.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive attitude
- Possess strong mechanical aptitude
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree or related field equivalent with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Safe working habits
- Good communication and organization skills
- Ability to interpret instructions
- Attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to understand and define their key process performance needs.
- Develop creative process designs incorporating evaporation and crystallization technology.
- Author technical proposals that clearly communicate value propositions and accurately define process performance.
- Prepare cost estimates for the proposed equipment scope.
- Participate in client meetings with the sales team as a technical expert.
- Create and deliver technical content to support business development initiatives.
- Participate in pilot testing programs for process validation.
- Complete engineering activities, including heat & material balances, process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams, equipment sizing calculations, dimensional designs for pressure vessels and heat exchangers, and plant equipment layout.
- Collaborate with engineering teams during project execution, procurement, and start-up.
- Other duties as assigned.
