About The Position

Texas Instruments (TI) is seeking a passionate and excited Applications Engineer to join their high-growth business segment. This role involves taking an active part in product definition, executing characterization until ramp, and providing post-ramp application support to customers. The position focuses on application support for clock and timing devices, requiring interaction with customers through forums, email, and on-site support. Responsibilities include answering customer questions, reviewing schematics and layouts, debugging customer issues, designing evaluation modules (EVMs), and creating technical documentation such as user guides and application notes. The role also involves bench characterization of clocking devices, including automation and hardware design, and participating in new silicon testing from an application perspective.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in applications support of analog products
  • Solid hardware and software debugging skills
  • Strong technical background, with the ability to produce high quality technical documentation
  • PLL & VCOs related knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Answer customer questions and support design-in activities for released products.
  • Provide forum and email support to customers.
  • Perform schematic and layout review of customer applications.
  • Debug customer problems by recreating issues in evaluation boards and/or customer boards.
  • Provide on-site support for customer boards as required.
  • Design EVM and internal evaluation boards to support correlation and evaluation activities of new products.
  • Create user guides and test procedures for EVM boards.
  • Participate in datasheet review to ensure completeness.
  • Perform bench characterization for Clocking devices, including bench automation, hardware design, and developing test techniques.
  • Participate in new silicon testing from an application perspective to ensure product robustness.
  • Work with systems engineers to support early design-in activities for new products.
  • Create custom reference designs targeting relevant applications.
  • Write application notes explaining different use cases, implementation, and/or flexibility of products.
