About The Position

Citibank, N.A. is seeking an Applications Development Tech Lead Analyst in Rutherford, New Jersey. The role involves developing and designing software based on business requirements and user stories, providing strategic technology analysis, and ensuring that application design aligns with the overall architecture blueprint. The position uses Agile SCRUM and test-driven development practices and involves coding, testing, deployment, debugging, and performance optimization of software and microservices. The role also evaluates existing systems, recommends software tools and infrastructure changes for long-term scalability, analyzes technology solution effectiveness, and works with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and Project Management teams. A telecommuting or hybrid schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, subject to Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering (any) or a related field.
Six years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer, Senior Specialist-Software Engineering, or in a related position analyzing business requirements and designing software requirements based on business needs.
Six years of experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot and other Spring frameworks, Spring Batch, Hibernate, Java Persistence Application Programming Interface, Java Mail, JBPM, Python, Kafka, and Spring Events.
Six years of experience with Docker, OpenShift, Tomcat, Apache Web Server, NGINX, Jenkins, Harness, RLM, Helm charts, Gradle, and Maven.
Six years of experience with Bitbucket, Github, and Jira.
Six years of experience with Oracle and SQL Developer.
Six years of experience with Log4j, Kibana, JUnit, Selenium, Shell Script, Autosys, Synk, and Checkmarx.
Six years of experience with Enterprise Design Thinking and Agile Architecture.

Responsibilities

Define API performance standards, implement fallback mechanisms, recommend load-testing strategies based on regional usage patterns, and ensure service availability and consistency across modules in line with 12-factor principles.
Investigate performance bottlenecks and propose infrastructure changes to improve network efficiency and connection handling.
Evaluate existing systems and recommend software tools and infrastructure changes aligned with long-term scalability goals.
Present detailed impact reports on the effectiveness of technology solutions to business stakeholders.
Analyze how business areas such as architecture and infrastructure integrate to meet business goals; define issues and develop solutions.
Collaborate with Product Owners and the Project Management team to understand customer needs and analyze user stories using JIRA.
Follow the Agile SCRUM process and lead user-story grooming sessions to discuss software requirements and implementation with stakeholders.
Design software based on user stories; prepare high- and low-level designs and technical specifications; and ensure designs adhere to the overall architecture blueprint.
Translate user stories into modern software design models and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
Use test-driven development procedures with JUnit and Mockito and code microservices using the specified Java, Spring, database, messaging, and deployment technologies.
Deploy and implement software in multiple environments using CI/CD Jenkins/Lightspeed and release orchestration software such as RLM and Harness.
Debug and resolve software defects and issues and ensure product quality and performance.
