About The Position

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The successful candidate will interact with the key stakeholders from product, operations and other teams for handling of application activities & new projects. The candidate will also interact with development Project Manager, the development, testing, and production support teams, as well as other departments within Citigroup (such as the System Administrators, Database Administrators, Data Centre Operations, and Change Control groups) for Payment platforms. He/she requires exceptional communication skills across both technology and the business and will have a high degree of visibility. The candidate will be a rigorous technical manager with a strong understanding of how to build scalable, enterprise level global applications The ideal candidate will be dependable and resourceful software professional who can comfortably work in a large development team in a globally distributed, dynamic work environment that fosters diversity, teamwork and collaboration. The ability to work in high-pressured environment is essential.

Requirements

• Strong experience in working with various Payments schemes, preferably Faster Payments scheme of any country, and Payments messaging formats such as ISO 8583, ISO 20022, and SWIFT etc.
• Experience in building enterprise transaction-based system with focus on recovery, stability, reliability, scalability and performance.
• Conversant with various technologies, experience in transforming legacy systems to new age technologies befitting the needs of business function.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, high availability and concurrent programming
• Strong experiences in implementation of the following technologies: Java, J2EE, Spring framework, Hibernate, JPA, App Server, JMS / MQ applications
• Experience in building multithreaded applications and troubleshooting complex issues related to it.
• Experience in working multiple OS (Unix, Linux, Win), Containers
• Experience in performance tuning of large technical solutions with significant volumes
• Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
• Demonstrated sense of responsibility and capability to deliver quickly
• Requires Strong Stakeholder Management experience on discussion between Business, Solutions, Operations and Application Teams.
• Excellent communication skills. Clearly articulating and documenting technical and functional specifications is a key requirement.

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience working on payments landscape handled technical delivery and support
• 8+ years of experience in leading globally distributed and large teams successfully
• Strong expertise in Payment Product Processor Implementation
• Experience in application run the bank needs and production support management
• Proven track record for innovation, payment strategy and overall technology governance
• Project management, interpersonal, and communication skills, with high attention to minute details.
• Experience in application production support management.
• Demonstrated people and technical management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead technical leadership of large scale/complex global software solutions on payments platform
• Lead integration of functions to meet goals, deploy new products, and enhance processes
• Analyse complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards to define and develop solutions to high level problems
• Provide expertise in area of advanced knowledge of applications programming and plan assignments involving large budgets, cross functional project, or multiple projects
• Utilize advanced knowledge of supported main system flows and comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas to achieve technology goals
• Allocate work, and act as an advisor/coach developers, analysts, and new team members
• Influence and negotiate with senior leaders and communicate with external parties
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
• Responsible for providing technical leadership of multiple large scale/complex software solutions, even by extending the existing platform through custom development, customization and integration with in-house solutions and vendor solutions leading to a complete platform that caters to key business requirements.
• Responsible for providing technical leadership of multiple large scale/complex global software solutions for payment processor platform
• Interpret business strategy and determine innovative technology solutions with the ability to manage and evaluate data and innovation pipeline
• Design, research, develop, analyse and recommend new solutions to enable strategic decision making and go to market process
• Strong knowledge to design payment flows & provides solution.
• Work closely with Program Management and Quality Control teams to deliver quality software to agreed project schedules.
• Compliance with Citi's System Development Lifecycle and Information Security requirements
• Demonstrated excellent software development acumen.
• Managing time and changing priorities in a dynamic environment
• Ability to provide quick turnaround to software issues and management requests
• Ability to assimilate key issues and concepts and come up to speed quickly
• Ability to push an agenda in a matrix environment through influencing and collaboration
