About The Position

The Applications Developer Administrator with the Pennsylvania Game Commission plays a vital role in shaping complex systems that support wildlife management and public safety. Working out of our Harrisburg Headquarters, you will have the opportunity to influence the future of statewide technology tools while working with engaged professionals. This position oversees the design, development, and administration of complex enterprise systems that support the mission of the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

Requirements

• One year as a Senior Applications Developer (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• Six years of information technology experience that includes four years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance
• Four years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field
• Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field
• An equivalent combination of experience and training
• Four or more years of full-time professional experience with SQL and .NET
• Must meet the PA residency requirement
• Must be able to perform essential job functions
• Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Responsibilities

• System Leadership: Guide teams through planning, development, testing, and implementation of complex applications
• Architecture Oversight: Validate application architecture and collaborate with technical leaders to ensure consistency across projects
• Code Review: Review code for quality, security, and performance using approved tools and practices
• Risk Management: Identify technical, security, and process risks and communicate them to appropriate teams
• Security Compliance: Ensure solutions meet all required criminal justice, federal, and state governance standards
• Issue Resolution: Lead efforts to resolve high-impact system problems in coordination with multiple divisions
