About The Position

The World 3 Cybersecurity Innovations Lab (W3CIL) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University conducts research and development in making breakthrough solutions for analyzing, vetting, and securing computer systems. W3CIL aims to develop novel and practical techniques for protecting the cyber-infrastructure critical to modern society. Underpinning this research is the development of fundamental techniques in binary software analysis and instrumentation, hybrid static/dynamic program modeling, and machine learning. The lab develops software and hardware platforms, tools, and workflows that support interdisciplinary research, real-world deployments, and sponsored project deliverables. W3CIL is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Applications Developer to lead and support software and hardware development activities across the team. This is a term role through Nov 2027. This position will work closely with faculty, students, and research staff to design, implement, test, document, deploy, and maintain high-quality research prototypes for W3CIL projects. The Applications Developer will play a central role in building reliable research prototypes, integrating prototypes into usable systems, supporting lab and field deployments, and strengthening the lab’s overall software and hardware engineering practices.
