About The Position

This recruitment is for an Applications Administrator position, with the possibility of underfilling. The role involves serving as an applications administrator for assigned medium- to smaller-scale business function and middleware applications, and providing secondary support for other enterprise applications. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, testing, and deploying applications in test and production environments, monitoring and tuning applications for optimal performance, and analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving application performance problems, errors, and failures. The ideal candidate is a collaborative technical application administrator with experience in application configuration, scripting, and Tier 3 support, possessing a strong track record of implementing and supporting secure, reliable vendor-provided COTS, cloud, and on-premise enterprise applications. They should work effectively with vendors, business partners, and enterprise technology teams to deliver solutions, improve processes through automation, and develop clear documentation and support procedures. This recruitment will also be used to fill an Associate Applications Administrator position.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in information technology, computer science, business administration or a closely related field; and three years of progressively responsible information technology experience involving applications administration, applications development, systems administration, database administration or a related specialty; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in a government or public utility setting with applications similar to those administered by the District is highly desirable.
  • A valid Nevada driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy.
  • Regularly required to sit; talk or hear, in person, in meetings and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate computers or other standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to walk and stand.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret complex data, information and documents; analyze and solve complex problems; observe and interpret conditions, situations and people; use math and mathematical reasoning; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks with constant interruptions and changing intensive deadlines; learn and apply new information and skills; and interact with all levels of managers, customers, IT staff, consultants, vendors and others encountered in the course of work.

  • Experience administering enterprise solutions such as AssetWorks FleetFocus, IBM Maximo Application Suite, Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, and BMC Control-M.
