About The Position

The Applications Administrator Level II administers the technology and workflows associated with at least two lines of business applications within a financial institution. These lines of business include Retail, Deposits, Lending, Credit, Audit, Mortgage, Back Office, and eBanking. The role serves as a liaison with designated departments, application vendors, training, and other support staff to ensure high levels of service and availability in a fast-paced, growing environment. Responsibilities include handling customization requests, managing user security and security groups, optimizing applications, understanding and documenting business needs, and collaborating with the IT department for approved upgrades and environment maintenance. This position requires the ability to perform all functions of an Applications Administrator I, and involves designing new features, configurations, and testing system performance. A key aspect of this role is mentoring Applications Administrator I personnel.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of fields such as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
  • Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read a limited number of words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to write and speak simple sentences for basic communication.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public, and other employees.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company-related articles and professional journals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
  • Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Technology, or related degree plan or related work experience.
  • Knowledge of the Windows operating environments and the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Intermediate Alphanumeric Data Entry, Contact Management, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing skills.
  • Basic 10-Key, Accounting, Database, Presentation/PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides specialized technical expertise and user support for day-to-day administration and maintenance of Retail, Lending, Enterprise, and Deposit Operations applications.
  • Works with the Information Security department to implement and maintain standard security groups based on user job function.
  • Administers the security model based on functional responsibilities.
  • Proactively monitors applications, providing and advising on solutions to prevent or minimize employee and customer impact.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with vendor support and other institutions using the same applications.
  • Provides production support, including workflow management and timely resolution of system-related issues.
  • Regularly attends vendor user conferences and actively participates in user groups.
  • Successfully completes vendor-provided training.
  • Works directly with functional departments to ensure efficient system usage, understand business needs, and implement approved changes.
  • Recommends system and process changes based on application capabilities and business needs.
  • Assists in the design, configuration, and modification of supported applications to meet organizational needs.
  • Completes work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Documents and maintains all processes and procedures for assigned applications.
  • Acts as backup for the computer operator as needed.
  • Supports the daily performance of assigned applications.
  • Assists in building workflows within assigned applications.
  • Assists in the development and execution of test scripts for major changes and releases.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and works in a safe manner.
  • Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
