About The Position

Supermicro is seeking an experienced Application Validation Engineer to contribute comprehensive validation testing for motherboards, server systems, and associated components. In this role, you will develop and automate test procedures, create and maintain robust test plans, perform a wide range of functionality, performance, stress, and reliability tests, and analyze test results to identify and resolve hardware and software issues. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure products meet the highest quality standards and industry specifications while supporting both pre- and post-release activities across Linux and Windows environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in server hardware, computer architecture, along with proven experience in validation testing and exceptional attention to detail. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Engineering (CE) from an accredited institution preferred
  • 1-2 years' proven experience as an Application Validation Engineer or in a relevant field, demonstrating expertise in server hardware validation and testing methodologies
  • Proficient in Python, C, C++, Shell scripting
  • Possess a solid understanding of Server Hardware (CPU/GPU/MEM/PCIe/Storage) and Computer Architecture, along with strong knowledge of Networking/TCPIP
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows Operating Systems is essential for this role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of validation testing and documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in server firmware development/validation is a plus (BIOS/BMC/CPLD/EEPROM)
  • Experience in hyper-scale, data center and/or rack level validation/deployment/operation is a big plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and rigorous validation testing for motherboards, server systems, and associated components to ensure high quality, stability, and compliance with industry specifications
  • Contribute to the development of test utilities and automate test script procedures to streamline validation processes and increase efficiency
  • Enhance and maintain validation test plans and test instructions, ensuring they reflect the most current testing strategies and methodologies
  • Perform an array of tests, including functionality, compatibility, performance, stress, and reliability testing, adhering to established protocols and standards
  • Document test results and analyze test data, record findings and observations. Report hardware and software quality assurance issues using established bug tracking systems
  • Offer adept driver/application analysis and support, leveraging comprehensive understanding and expertise in both Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to address quality issues, driving resolution through systematic investigation and collaboration
